Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded in recognition of excellence in Art, Drama, Music, Sport, Design & Technology and academic ability. A John Wesley Scholarship, to recognise the potential in all round contribution to school life, is available to boarding pupils. All scholarships are open to joining pupils in Years 7, 9 or 12. They are awarded with the offer of a place: in December for Year 12, in January for Year 7 and in February for Year 9.
Bursaries
In keeping with the Christian ethos and traditions of the School, the Headmaster and Governors seek to provide financial assistance to families where it is felt that a particular child would benefit from the type of education Kingswood provides and where there is a proven genuine need. All bursary applications are means-tested for eligibility and assessed by the Bursar and Headmaster.
A-level performance
Value-added and attainment indicators for sixth-form students (England). Figures are for context; always confirm with the school.
Progress Score
These figures tell you how much progress students who studied A levels at this school or college made between the end of key stage 4 and the end of their A level studies, compared to similar students across England. These scores are also known as 'value added' scores.
The scores are calculated by comparing the A-level results of students at this school or college with the A level results of students in schools and colleges across England who started with similar results at the end of the previous key stage – key stage 4.
A score above zero means students made more progress, on average, than students across England who got similar results at the end of key stage 4. A score below zero means students made less progress, on average, than students across England who got similar results at the end of key stage 4.
Average Result
This tells you the average grade that students achieved per A level entry.
